Your Communication Patterns, Made Visible

The Communication Tendencies Assessment (CTA) helps people recognize the patterns that shape how they communicate

When communication falters, we move quickly from behavior to interpretation — someone is resisting, dominating, avoiding. Those stories can feel true, but they often close down the very dialogue the moment needs.

The Communication Tendencies Assessment (CTA) offers a different starting point: a research-informed profile, grounded in Kantor's Structural Dynamics, that helps people see the pattern before the judgment.

Read the structure, not the story

The Personal Lens vs. The Structural Lens

The CTA measures the observable structure of communication — how people initiate, follow, challenge, and reflect — rather than labeling character or intent. A CTA profile is never a verdict. It's a map of current range: which positions come readily, which are used less often, and where there is room to grow.

Who This Is For

The CTA Certification Training is built for leaders, coaches, consultants, facilitators, educators, and HR and organizational development professionals — anyone who wants to strengthen dialogue, collaboration, and communication effectiveness in the groups and teams they work with.

As a certified practitioner, you'll be equipped to administer and debrief the CTA with individuals, groups, and teams, using the assessment as a shared language for seeing the system: where a team has strong capacity, where its range is narrow, and what it can deliberately invite into the conversation.

A two-part program

How it works

Certification is a two-part program. First, a cohort learning experience across four virtual live sessions — concept review, discussion, experiential learning, and applied practice.

Then, a three-month self-paced certification process, in which you administer and debrief the CTA with at least four individuals and one group, supported throughout by coaching and guidance from your CTA trainer.
